VC funding: Zafin, Lumigo, Symbiont.io, Electric, Varada, Ontic Technologies, Andela, Liquid Instruments, Growth Intelligence, among others, have announced their latest VC funding.

Zafin

Zafin, a financial services software provider, has raised $17.2 million in growth financing led by Vistara Capital Partners, Beedie Capital, and Accenture Ventures.

Lumigo

Lumigo, a Tel Aviv based start-up, has raised $8 million seed funding for its serverless intelligence platform that lets developers monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize serverless applications.

Symbiont.io

Symbiont.io closed a $20 million Series B funding round — led by Nasdaq Ventures with participation from additional new investors including Galaxy Digital, Citi, Raptor Group, and others.

Electric

Electric, the world’s first chat-based, real-time IT support solution, raised $25 million as part of a Series B financing round led by GGV Capital with participation from existing investor Bessemer Venture Partners. To date, Electric has raised $38 million.

Varada

Varada, a big data inline indexing company, announced a $7.5 million seed funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation by StageOne Ventures and F2 Capital.

Ontic Technologies

Ontic Technologies, a intelligence technology platform, has raised a $4.65 million Series Seed round investment led by Silverton Partners, with participation from Floodgate and Village Global.

Andela

Andela announced the completion of a $100 million Series D funding — led by Generation Investment Management with participation from existing investors including Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, GV, Spark Capital, and CRE Venture Capital. The recent financing brings Andela’s total venture funding to $180 million.

Liquid Instruments

Liquid Instruments, the developer of Moku:Lab, the software-configurable hardware platform for precision test and measurement and advanced digital signal processing, has raised $8.16 million in a Series A funding round — led by US-based Anzu Partners and includes follow-on investor ANU Connect Ventures in Australia.

Growth Intelligence

Growth Intelligence has raised £1.7 million to help marketers and sales leaders drive faster growth with AI.

Vistex

Vistex, a Chicago-based software company, has received a minority equity investment of an initial $65 million, and up to an additional $40 million, for future strategic acquisitions from Accel-KKR.

Owl Ventures

Owl Ventures, an investor in education technology, closed $315 million for its third fund. The fund will make early and growth stage investments in education technology companies. Owl Ventures has over $600 million in assets under management and has invested in 24 companies since its founding in 2014.

ThingTech

ThingTech, an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) Platform-as-a-Service provider, has raised a Series A funding round of $4 million led by BIP Capital with follow on investor Engage Ventures.

Sherpa.ai

Sherpa.ai, a Spanish language digital voice assistant, has added $8.5 million to its Series A funding led by Mundi Ventures with participation from the Chairman and CEO of British Airways, Alex Cruz. The company raised $15 million to date.

Tempus Nova

Renovus Capital Partners has acquired a controlling stake in Tempus Nova, a technology services partner to over 200 public and private sector organizations located throughout the United States.

Hailo

Hailo has expanded its Series A funding round to $21 million – led by Glory Ventures from China with the participation from existing and other new investors.
