IBM announced it has completed more than 100 SAP S/4HANA implementations and revealed the name of some clients.
Smart & Final Stores, Cleco, Toyota Indus Motor Company and Logoplaste are some of the clients of IBM Services that selected SAP S/4HANA platform as part of the digital plans to improve efficiency.
“The many SAP S/4HANA projects delivered by SAP and IBM are the great proof points, that our investments into business value assets help our joint clients to make the intelligent enterprise a reality,” Michael Kleinemeier, member of the Executive Board of SAP SE, Digital Business Services, said.
Smart & Final Stores, a food and everyday staples retailer, selected IBM Services to improve operational business processes, beginning with modernizing their financial processes and systems.
Smart & Final Stores adopted SAP S/4HANA and SAP Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC), Smart & Final to create a financial backbone, a digital platform to optimizes financial processes and harmonizes data centrally.
“Smart & Final is realizing operational efficiency and business capabilities to sustain our growth with SAP’s S/4HANA digital core and IBM as our transformation partner,” said Edward Wong, CIO of Smart & Final.
Cleco, a regulated utility company, selected IBM Services to replace its core technology by shifting it from multiple systems to one primary system on SAP S/4HANA.
“A major part of our decision to move to SAP S/4HANA now factored on our review of the IBM IMPACT industry solutions,” said Mark Northrup, chief information officer (CIO) of Cleco.
Toyota Indus Motor Company, a manufacturer and distributor of Toyota vehicles in Pakistan, has selected SAP S/4HANA on IBM POWER8 servers, to transform front-to-back operations to boost manufacturing efficiency.
“SAP S/4HANA will become the nervous system that collects and analyzes data from across the business, and transforms that data into actionable insight for our decision-makers,” Faizan Mustafa, CIO / head of IT at Indus Motor Company, said.
Logoplaste, a plastics packaging manufacturer, has sought the assistance of IBM Services to upgrade from SAP ERP to SAP S/4HANA with no downtime for the manufacturing plants. The IT team is assisting the company to provide real-time information to its supply-chain partners.

Recently, IBM introduced an accelerated Bluefield migration approach that automates the process and conversion to provide a fast path to SAP S/4HANA transformation. IBM Impact Industry solutions are available on multiple cloud environments, including IBM Cloud Private.

IBM has already completed more than 100 transformations. IBM Services is guiding more than 200 leading global companies in their SAP S/4HANA implementations.
