Polycom and Microsoft expand pact for Skype for business

Polycom is joining hands with Microsoft to deliver video collaboration solutions for Skype for business.

The first tool unveiled is Polycom Roundtable 100 — aimed at the small to medium business (SMB) market. SMBs can easily set up conference calls in huddle rooms.

SMBs can login to their Skype for Business account to access to voice, video and content collaboration.

RoundTable 100 takes minutes to set up and start using. It is easy to use without IT assistance as it does not require any corporate domains or on premises infrastructure.

Polycom said its CX series of video collaboration solutions including the Polycom CX800 room system and Polycom CX5100 and Polycom CX5500 unified conferencing systems, will join the RoundTable 100 under the Ploycom RoundTable series.

Two days ago Skype has launched the technical preview of Skype for Business. Skype for Business has replaced Lync communications tool.

Polycom Rountable 100 for Skype for Business will be available this summer.

In January 2015, Polycom has supported Havells India to upgrade existing Polycom video infrastructure. Havells has refreshed its existing deployment with new video and content collaboration solutions including Polycom Real Presence Group 500.
