Tech Mahindra announces departure of Manoj Chugh

Tech Mahindra today announced the departure of Manoj Chugh, the enterprise business head.

Indian IT company Tech Mahindra recently announced 3.3 percent increase in operations to $1.21 billion during the second quarter ended September 30, 2018.

Tech Mahindra reported 15.6 percent increase in net profit to $149.4 million for the second quarter — driven by efficiency improvements. The company gained 80 basis points from currency depreciation while earning another 120 basis points from efficiency improvements.

Tech Mahindra said its digital revenue share increased to 31 percent in the quarter from the previous quarter.

Tech Mahindra won three deals in the communications business worth about $300 million.

Tech Mahindra reported a decline in the enterprise business — caused by a drop in healthcare revenue. Tech Mahindra’s decline in the enterprise business was due to closure of two large projects. Enterprise business without the healthcare revenue grew at about 2.6 percent quarter on quarter. All other verticals performed well.

Tech Mahindra is also building a 5G centre of excellence for the Japanese market

The company added 4,839 people in the September quarter taking the total headcount to 118,391. The software headcount was at 72,534, while that in BPO was 39,407.

Jagdish Mitra, currently the chief strategy and marketing officer, will be replacing Manoj Chugh to driving growth of the Enterprise Business.

Jagdish Mitra will drive growth across enterprise business verticals and strategic business units. He will also drive strategic partnerships and alliances for Tech Mahindra.

Sanjeev Nikore, currently leading strategic initiatives, will become the head of Marketing at Tech Mahindra.

Earlier this year, Tech Mahindra announced the appointment of Manoj Bhat as the chief financial officer, and Harshvendra Soinas the chief people officer.

“This will help the organization accelerate the digital transformation journey, as part of the TechMNxt charter,” CP Gurnani, managing director and chief executive officer of Tech Mahindra said.
