Honeywell signs 15-year component service deal with Emirates

honeywell aerospace serviceHoneywell announced its 15-year Component Service Solutions deal with Dubai-based Emirates to maintain aftermarket components on the airline’s Airbus A380 and Boeing 777.

Emirates will be reducing grounded aircraft time by benefitting from component repairs and support solutions.

Honeywell said its services are designed to reduce maintenance costs, lower cost of ownership and provide the highest possible fleet reliability. Aircraft components manufactured, supported and repaired by Honeywell include avionics and mechanical parts.

“One of our goals is to increase the lifespan of Honeywell aircraft components and reduce airline operating costs,” said Randy Anderson, president, Aerospace – Europe Middle East, Africa and India, Honeywell Aerospace.

Honeywell also signed Lufthansa Technik as a licensed component repair center and asset provider for all Honeywell components and the HGT 1700 APU on Airbus A350 aircraft.

Under the agreement, Lufthansa Technik will offer A350 operators with repair and overhaul services for Honeywell components, including auxiliary power units.

A350 operators can expect immediate access to exchanges and rental assets via Lufthansa Technik’s global logistics footprint.

“The design of the Airbus A350 demands an equally impressive maintenance, repair and overhaul solution to ensure fleets remain operational and efficient,” said David Shilliday, vice president, Airlines, for the Europe, Middle East, Africa and India, Honeywell Aerospace.

Since the A350’s entry into service in late 2014, Lufthansa Technik has had two years of operational experience managing six in-service A350 fleets with more than 50 in-service aircraft.
