Infotech Lead Asia: Toshiba America Information Systems announced its call control plug-in for Microsoft Lync as a part of its Call Manager portfolio of Unified Communication products.
The Toshiba plug-in provides Lync users integration and interoperability with Toshiba’s award-winning Strata CIX and IPedge Voice over IP business telephone systems.
“Expanding Unified Communications to include the new call control plug-in for Microsoft Lync gives our users more ways to manage, utilize and integrate their Toshiba business telephone systems with their other business solutions,” said Mark Carpenter, vice president of Technology and Product Management, Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division.
Via the call control plug-in, Lync users can utilize the Lync contact list to make calls and access advanced Toshiba business telephone system features, including transfer and conference. Users’ Lync presence status is updated based on the Toshiba telephone status, so other users can determine the best method of communication.
The Toshiba Lync plug-in interoperates with Toshiba business telephones, including Toshiba’s digital DKT/DP series telephones, IP series telephones, and the Call Manager soft phone application.
Toshiba’s VIPedge cloud-based business telephone solution supports up to 500 users, and the IPedge and Strata CIX systems support from 8 to 1,000 users and offer Voice over IP, voice mail and unified messaging, conferencing and collaboration, unified communications applications, networking, mobility and more.
