Microsoft SQL Server 2016 benefits

Microsoft SQL Server 2016 – on the cloud platform — is designed assist businesses with intelligence-based decision making, giving them a strong competitive advantage.

SQL 2016 supports encrypted query processing capabilities for advanced analytics, machine learning, mobile business intelligence, and data integration that addresses the security concerns of enterprise customers.

IDC says the digital universe will reach 40 zettabytes (ZB) by 2020 and will double every two years between now and 2020.

Munish Mittal, group head – IT & CIO, HDFC Bank, said: “Our digital application platform and CRM systems use Microsoft technology as the data platform. SQL Server offers good performance and helps us in scaling up our systems at very optimal cost.”

SQL has almost 100 billion queries per day, with almost 400 million database log-ins per day.

Why switch to SQL Server?

Microsoft says Indian enterprises can get layers of protection for your data at rest and in motion. SQL Server is rated the least vulnerable database six years in a row by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

SQL Server is ranked first, second, and third — and Oracle is ranked fifth — in the TPC-H 10TB non-clustered results, a standard benchmark for data warehousing workloads.

It publishes reports using Power BI or Excel 2016 to an iPhone, Android, or Windows phone. SQL Server enables both self-service BI and mobility at a fraction of the cost of Oracle.

SQL Server promises in-database advanced analytics at no extra cost. SQL Server allows enterprise CIOs to make better decisions with easy-to-use analytics tools that seamlessly combine enterprise data, external data, and unstructured big data.

SQL Server achieves exponential performance gains with the speed of in-memory online transaction processing.
