Infotech Lead America: Orange Business Services has enhanced its Security as a Service portfolio by migrating to a cloud-based secure authentication service from SafeNet, a global provider of data protection.
SafeNet Authentication Service provides enterprise customers of Orange Business Services an additional layer of security when they access corporate resources or cloud services by enhancing its Secure Authentication solution.
The same unified and secure multifactor credentials can be used to access a virtual private network as well as cloud services such as Google Apps, Salesforce.com and other cloud-based business applications and infrastructure.
Secure Authentication gives companies the advantage of using multi-factor authentication from Orange Business Services in a cloud delivery model.
Customers also benefit from only paying per user per month as opposed to having significant up-front investments in hardware or software. Inherent cloud computing attributes like simplicity, elasticity and high performance are added advantages.
Last year SafeNet appointed Dave Hansen as the company’s new president and CEO. Hansen succeeds current President and CEO, Chris Fedde, who has been with SafeNet since 2001.
Hansen joined SafeNet from BMC Software, where he most recently served as vice president and general manager. Hansen joined BMC through its acquisition of Numara Software, where he served as the company’s president and CEO, and was responsible for driving the company’s cloud strategy.
