Palo Alto Networks adds PA-7080 to its family of firewalls

Palo Alto Networks has expanded the family of next-generation firewalls with the addition of PA-7080 to deliver next generation security.

The new PA-7080 next-generation firewall provides the power, intelligent scalability, and management simplicity to implement he platform in large enterprise and service provider environments to secure their assets and services.

The Palo Alto Networks security platform consists of the Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewall, Threat Intelligence Cloud, and Advanced Endpoint Protection.

The company said platform eliminates the security, performance and operational shortcomings of legacy products and siloed security architectures while delivering scalable performance, policy automation, and orchestration.

The PA-7080 delivers computing power and software architecture to prevent cyberattacks across all applications and delivers up to 200Gbps throughput and 100Gpbs with all security capabilities enabled.

In addition, the PA-7080 delivers prevention at scale for internal data centers, service delivery infrastructure and internet gateways.

Company officials said newly launched PA-7080 is designed for non-disruptive integration into large networks and minimal ongoing operational expense while supporting virtual wire, L2 and L3 networking, high availability modes combined with simplified management, simplified licensing, and intelligent traffic management.

“The PA-7080 is architected to deliver safe application enablement and to prevent against cyberattacks at the scale needed by service providers and the largest enterprises,” said Lee Klarich, senior vice president of Product Management.

In June, Palo Alto Networks uncovered a series of potentially state-sponsored cyber attacks targeting government and military organizations in countries throughout Southeast Asia.

Also, Palo Alto Networks enhanced security platform to safely enable applications and prevent cyber breaches.

In May, Palo Alto Networks acquired CirroSecure, a Silicon Valley-based company, to strengthen SaaS application security offering.
