Tellabs delivers optical LAN solution to Park Plaza

Tellabs has joined hands with IP UtiliNET to deliver optical LAN solution to Park Plaza.

Fiber based network from Tellabs will meet the connectivity needs of the residents in Park Plaza, Luxury condominium complex in Atlanta, Georgia, for their current devices and voice, data and video applications.

Tellabs Optical LAN also support migration to next generation technologies, such as voice over IP (VOIP), integrated music systems, exterior surveillance and access control without any infrastructure replacement.

Optical LAN’s fiber endpoints within each condo offer four times more capacity than traditional copper based networking solution.

Company fficials said the residents now receive fast internet which is burstable up to 1Gbps and superior bandwidth and density of optical fiber translates into maximum scalability for the Park Plaza Optical LAN.

The optical LAN design enables IP UtiliNET to engineer the signal-distribution capacity for incremental delivery of 10 Gbps service.

The company said that Optical LAN is a cost effective solution as it requires less equipment and cabling as compared to copper and converges a separate service specific networks such as voice, data, video and wireless, into streamlined, single fiber architecture.

Technicians can now configure and reconfigure connectivity and services for individual users faster and easily with Tellabs Optical LAN

“The beauty of the converged Tellabs Optical LAN solution is the ability to provide a residence like Park Place with a state-of-the-art high-speed network, while enabling it to reduce budgetary consumption from day one and significantly lower the total cost of ownership over a 10-year period,” said David Quinn, CEO of IP UtiliNET.

In January 2015, Tellabs announced that Santa Fe Public Schools deployed its fiber based Optical LAN network solution to deliver high speed internet and flexibility to digital learning technologies for its teaching staff and students.
