Sonus showcases NaaS IQ network controller platform

Sonus Networks has demonstrated collaboration of Sonus’ NaaS IQ with Microsoft Skype for Business through the Skype for Business SDN Interface at the 2015 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference.

The solution enables organization to reliably and automatically deliver better QoE to Skype for Business users, while lowering network costs.

The company said it has demonstrated how the combination of Microsoft’s Skype for Business SDN Interface and Sonus’ SDN networking enables optimized network orchestration, provides Unified Communications (UC) server isolation by way of pinhole access control and ensures the best possible route for each type of traffic.

In addition, NaaS IQ can select a better route to improve the customer experience in case a call degrades due to a sudden change in traffic, too much jitter, latency or packet loss.

Additionally, NaaS IQ can also improve business continuity and optimize work load management.

“Using Sonus’ NaaS IQ in service provider and enterprise networks will allow end users to see a significant increase in QoE, while IT professionals can enjoy the flexibility and ease of the real-time session modification,” said David Tipping, vice president and general manager, Products, Sonus.

In February, Sonus Networks and Numonix joined hands to increase customer service levels, maximize agent productivity and support compliance regulations.
