NEC today said it will launch its retail Stanchion 3.0 solution to enable retail staff to access data, improve communications and achieve better productivity and customer experience.

The customizable solution, which will be showcased at the National Retail Federation conference, January 11-14, 2015, at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York, assists retail employees to collect real-time data and make ordering, forecasting and operational decisions more streamlined from the store floor.
NEC will be showing its TWINPOS G5 point-of-sale (POS) solution, the latest in all-in-one compact POS terminals. The G5 features a high-resolution display, a dual-core processor and a reputation for easy repairs.
This apart, NEC Enterprise Biometrics will showcase in-store audience measurement tools, as well as its NeoFace Watch system, which uses face recognition technology to identify individuals such as VIP shoppers or known offenders for loss prevention.
NEC has also joined hands with Microsoft on a new retail signage solution that combines NEC face recognition technology with Microsoft’s Kinect camera system to create a next-generation shopping experience.
The solution serves up digital retail signage based upon an individual’s age and gender, and archives in-store demographic and engagement data in the cloud for later analysis. Microsoft and NEC will demo this solution in Microsoft’s booth during the NRF event.
NEC Display Solutions of America is showing a selection of its display technologies that help retailers strengthen connections with customers, bolster brands and offer flexibility to the people installing and managing the solutions.
NEC Display’s 46-inch MultiSync V463 display with touch-overlay and 23-inch MultiSync E232WMT multi-touch, LED-backlit display give retailers interactive digital screens that can help stores build stronger relationships with customers.
