NCR inks POS deal with grocery retailer Axfood

NCR announced its point-of-sale (POS) and scanner technology deal with Swedish grocery retailer Axfood.

The retailer will deploy NCR RealPOS 60 terminals, NCR RealPOS XT 15” multi-touch cashier displays, 12” LED customer displays, 7197 receipt printers, NCR RealScan 84 Hybrid Scanners and the NCR RealPOS XR7.

Axfood, the second biggest food retailer in Sweden with revenue of $ 4.8 billion, is expected to boost engagement and interaction with customers more effectively in order to increase sales. The deployment of 15-inch multi-touch XT displays and the NCR RealPOS XR7 is one of the first in Europe. NCR’s POS solution and scanner solutions process transactions more securely, while the displays simultaneously run marketing videos and promotions to better engage customers and help increase sales.

The 4th generation Intel Core processor family is powering NCR RealPOS XR7.

Meanwhile, NCR introduced NCR Sales Advisor for Windows 8.1. The solution for fixed and mobile devices allows brick-and-mortar locations to drive shopping experiences based on past purchases, wish lists and product information, enabling personalized offers, recommendations and delivery options.

NCR Sales Advisor for Windows 8.1 (and future versions of Windows) is available for both fixed point-of-sale (POS) including the NCR RealPOS XR7 as well as tablets such as Windows Devices.
