IBM veteran Puneet Gupta joins Cisco to head public sector business

Infotech Lead India: Cisco India has appointed Puneet Gupta as senior vice president to drive strategy and sales for its public sector business.

Gupta will primarily focus on driving growth in key segments that include e-governance, defense and homeland security, and strategic infrastructure projects in central and state governments.

He will report to Janesh Moorjani, president, Enterprise and Public Sector, India & SAARC.

Before joining Cisco, Gupta spent a year at a startup in the video conferencing space, where he led their global sales and marketing activities.

Puneet has over 19 years of experience and has worked with IT majors such as IBM and Wipro, among others.

He spent over 14 years at IBM in a variety of roles, including leading their Public Sector business in India and South Asia. Under his leadership, the team focused on strategic Mission Mode Projects of Government of India as well as key infrastructure projects in defense and homeland security.
