Huawei’s OceanStor T series storage products to support 16 Gbit/s Fibre Channel and 12 Gbit/s SAS interface specifications

Infotech Lead Asia: Huawei announced that its OceanStor T series storage products will support both 16 Gbit/s Fibre Channel and 12 Gbit/s SAS interface specifications.

By providing customer-centric storage solutions that are converged and easy-to-use, the Chinese ICT solutions provider seeks to help enterprise customers achieve higher production efficiency and lower total cost of ownership.

Huawei claims that OceanStor T series storage products take the lead in adopting the 16 Gbit/s Fibre Channel and 12 Gbit/s SAS interface technologies in the industry. The new interface technologies double the bandwidth per channel between servers and storage devices, as well as between storage controllers and disk enclosures.

In addition, Huawei OceanStor T series storage products feature a modular design, supporting hot swapping, failover, and load balancing. Together, these technologies provide a storage infrastructure that features high performance, outstanding scalability, and robust reliability to meet requirements for increasing data storage demands and continuous evolution of applications, configurations, and capacities, maximizing customers’ return on investment.
