Huawei, Comtech to offer satellite platform for enterprise network services

Enterprise network vendor Huawei in association with Comtech EF Data launched satellite network solution platform for enterprise network services.

Recently, Huawei and Comtech conducted an interoperability test of Comtech EF Data’s Advanced VSAT Solutions and Huawei’s communication equipment including AR series routers, unified communications, telepresence and video monitoring equipment for emergency communications and restoral application.

The company conducted the test in Suzhou, China. The test involved the switchover and backup of multiple links with Huawei’s communication system and Comtech EF Data’s Advanced VSAT solution consisting of the CDM 800, CDM 840 and CDD 880 models.

As per the test, which was conducted on an IP level for integrated voice, data and video applications, also proved that the combination of the two company’s solutions improved transmission efficiency, guaranteed transmission of traffic, and supported backup and rapid switchover between satellite links even in bandwidth-limited scenarios.

In addition, Huawei said the results of the interoperability testing proved compatibility of Huawei’s communications system and Comtech EF Data’s Advanced VSAT Solutions to meet service requirements in network services and mobile backhaul solutions over satellite.

Xianyin Li, vice president of Huawei Enterprise Networking Product Line, said: “We have worked extensively with Comtech EF Data on other projects in different parts of the world, including the Uzbek Natural Gas Pipeline Project, where our combined solution provides a mobile emergency system and other network services.”

Comtech said its combined solution will facilitate network services for mobile backhaul, oil and gas sector, maritime communications, government and private networks.
