Cisco updates CCNP Routing and Switching certificationsportfolio

Cisco has revised the CCNP Routing and Switching certifications with new specialist certifications pertaining to network programmability, the Internet of Things (IoT) and business transformation.

The new specializations will help professionals address the challenges involved in technology transitions and evolving business demands, Cisco said. In this era of Internet of Everything (IoE), success depends on the knowledge and skills gained by networking professionals to fulfill evolving industry job roles.

The new offerings help workers gain capabilities essential for performing critical activities now, while also building the expertise needed to successfully perform future IT, OT and networking roles, the company said.


Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Routing and Switching certification update will provide learners with more current and forward looking educational topics, such as IPv6 addressing workforce mobility and the proliferation of Internet-connected devices. It will also address issues such as supporting network scale and accommodating the continued growth of IoE.

Network Programmability Specialist certifications will help enterprises benefit from automaton and help them keep pace with the changes involved in network design and operation. These job-role oriented accreditations support technical staff in more closely integrating networking with business applications.

Cisco Industrial Networking Specialist is designed to address the skill gap challenge in the IoT arena, Cisco said. In order to help scale IoT, enterprises currently need 220,000 IT/OT engineers every year, estimates say.

Cisco Enterprise IT Business Specialist certification provides technical candidates with a holistic set of skills. Related training helps mid-level IT professionals make stronger contributions to business-focused activities and decisions.

Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise Training certification delivers efficient and effective IT-driven business outcomes, collaboration within the IT organization and between IT and business employees will be required. The Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise (UCCE) v10.0 Training helps learners to design, configure and deploy a leading and effective customer collaboration solution with integrated cloud and mobility features and APIs.
