CES 2014: SanDisk supplies SSD to Asus Zenbook Ultrabook

At the CES 2014, flash storage solutions vendor SanDisk said it supplies Solid State Drives (SSD) to Asus Zenbook UX301LA Ultrabook.

The new Asus notebook features two thin and light-weight M.2 2260 form-factor SanDisk X110 SSDs (offered in either 128GB1 or 256GB capacities) connected together in RAID 0 configuration, which allows the drives to be written simultaneously.

Leveraging SanDisk’s advanced flash memory architecture, the SanDisk SSDs enhance the performance of the Ultrabook, enabling rapid application launching, quick transferring of data, and smooth, nimble application interaction with each press of the notebook touch-screen.

“With the Zenbook UX301LA, we combined the enjoyment of a high-end laptop, powerful computing capability and a thin design to create one of the most stylish and functional Ultrabooks we have ever introduced,” said SY Shian, corporate vice president and general manager, Notebook Business Unit, Asus.

SATA 6Gbps SanDisk X110 SSDs featured in the Asus notebook improve boot-up and shut-down times, and provide prompt entrance and return from hibernation. Additionally, the X110 SSDs offer automated power management, including DEVSLP capability, enabling mobile computing users to experience outstanding performance, without sacrificing battery life.

The SanDisk X110 SSD is available to PC OEMs and in large quantities to businesses through the SanDisk Commercial Business Channel – enabling CIOs and IT decision-makers to easily integrate the SSD into desktops and notebooks to further bolster the performance of workplace client computing devices with SanDisk flash storage. The SanDisk X110 SSD is part of SanDisk’s wide portfolio of SSD products for retail, OEM and enterprise customers.
