Barracuda has launched Software-as-a-service (SaaS) Cloud-to-Cloud Backup to provide customers with the ability to replicate data from supported cloud environments into Barracuda’s Cloud Storage.
With Barracuda Backup, customers have options for long-term data retention and physical-to-virtual portability.
The company said its new Cloud-to-Cloud Backup supports Microsoft Office 365 including Exchange Online and OneDrive for Business.
Additionally, IT administrators can replicate data over a secure connection to be stored in Barracuda Cloud Storage and can search or retrieve lost data. Administrators can download or restore data directly back to Microsoft’s hosted applications from Barracuda Cloud Control.
Company officials said it also provides protection against accidental or malicious data loss.
Barracuda Backup customers can leverage Offsite Vaulting to store historical revisions in Barracuda’s Cloud Storage or an offsite Barracuda Backup appliance.
Also, Barracuda backup can export individual files, folders or databases to disk, tapes, autoloaders and robotic libraries.
Customers can restore physical backups onto a virtual server for rapid disaster recovery with Physical-to-virtaul (P2V) portability with Barracuda Backup.
The main aim of Barracuda Backup is to help customers access, retain and share critical data from anywhere and any device and is part of the company’s Data Protection Plus strategic initiative.
“The new options for Barracuda Backup, including Cloud-to-Cloud Backup for SaaS applications, will offer customers additional flexibility for data protection and disaster recovery,” said Rod Mathews, GM Storage, Barracuda.
In April, Barracuda Networks expanded its channel program to provide the necessary structure and tools to allow resellers to sell and support Barracuda solutions for mutual customers.
