Axis launches tools for onsite camera installation and entry control

Axis Communication has launched Wireless Installation Tool to simplify onsite installation of network cameras and Network Video Door Station for Remote Identification and Entry Management.

Axis Communication has launched AXIS T8415 Wireless Installation Tool for easy and quick setup of network cameras from mobile devices.

Company said by using connectivity of mobile devices the new Axis tool can reduce the installation time of network cameras.

The handheld device directly connects to a camera and displays live video at the installation site for easy focus.

AXIS T8415 can power up an Axis Power over Internet (PoE) camera up to 30 W for several hours.

The Installer can connect its smartphone or tablet with the tool to have convenient live view of the camera with built in Wi-Fi function.

According to the company officials, the installer can also adjust basic camera functions, such as focus, IP address and image rotation.

The app on the smartphone (iOS or Android) can be downloaded free-of-charge from the App Store or Google Play.

AXIS T8415 Wireless Installation Tool will be available in Q2 2015 for $599 from Axis’ distribution partners.

The provider of video surveillance has also launched AXIS A8004-VE Network Video Door Station for identification, communication and remote entry control.

The door station provides two way communication with visitors and an integrated HDTV camera with wide dynamic range (WDR) and excellent low-light performance.

The new product is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and offers 24×7 identification of visitors in every environment.

AXIS A8004-VE Network Video Door Station also includes Acoustic echo cancelation and noise reduction, multiple inputs and outputs for remote control of doors-locks and other equipment and support for third party mobile application for identification and remote entry.

The product will also improve security of the premises and is fully compliant with ONVIF, VAPIX and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).

AXIS A8004-VE will be available through Axis’ standard distribution channels in May for $1249.

In January, Axis launched its temperature alarm cameras AXIS Q29 for remote monitoring of critical equipment.
