BroadSoft, a provider of software and solutions that enable IP-based unified communications (UC) solutions, announced it is powering BT Cloud Voice UC offerings for businesses.
The company also announced a number of strategic initiatives at its ongoing annual users’ conference BroadSoft Connections 2014.
BT has selected BroadSoft’s BroadCloud managed services for the company’s newly launched cloud-based IP voice and UC service for business customers.
BT Cloud Voice allows businesses to extend their core telephony services to a comprehensive range of cloud UC applications and features. The service supports high-definition voice; conferencing; smart call handling, instant messaging and presence; cloud call recording; CRM integration and web collaboration.
Commenting on the deployment at BT Cloud Voice, Michael Tessler, president and chief executive officer, BroadSoft, said, “As workforces turn increasingly mobile, businesses are looking for a flexible solution with features and applications available to users from one common platform and across multiple fixed and mobile communications devices; this is exactly what BT Cloud Voice will deliver.”
At BroadSoft Connections 2014, BroadSoft announced a new set of strategic initiatives that aims to strengthen its UC-One UC services for service providers. The company enhanced UC-One Web Conferencing with several new capabilities including individual and group productivity enhancing capabilities and user interface enhancements.
As part of the new strategy, BroadSoft introduced BroadSoftLabs, a technology incubator to integrate web communications with unified communications applications. The objective of BroadSoftLabs is to accelerate the development, deployment and use of innovative unified communications application services that leverage WebRTC.
The company also announced new corporate identity and launched a new microsite – UC-One Insights- that will serve as a forum for discussions around UC, enterprise and market shifts impacting the industry, and how evolving workforce dynamics create opportunities and challenges for service providers and their customers.
