Polycom, which competes with Cisco, LifeSize, etc. is the technology partner for Manappuram Finance to bring HD video conferencing. IBM is the IT services provider.
The strategy of the NBFC is to achieve substantial cost savings, especially on travel, board and lodging. Sooraj Nandan, senior vice president – Strategy, is spear heading the video conferencing program.
The company did not share the name of technology provider for offering video conferencing that will eventually connect its head office at Valapad, Thrissur district, Kerala, and corporate office Annexe at Mumbai with all its 31 regional offices. Manappuram Centre for Innovation and Excellence at Bangalore is a part of this network.
“This VC initiative will enable regular two way communication between management and the ground level functionaries essential for maintaining competitive edge in the market,” said VP Nandakumar, MD and CEO of Manappuram Finance.
Through the video conferencing facility, the company expects to carry out a wide range of tasks like review meetings, interviews, product launches, training programs etc.
Manappuram Finance had 3,293 branches across 24 states and 4 UTs with Assets under management (AUM) of Rs 102.20 billion as of September 30, 2015.
