Dell Software will showcase a new solution, Migration Manager for Enterprise Social, at Microsoft Ignite 2015.
The solution is designed to help organizations move content from Jive to Microsoft Yammer. Dell says it can eliminate the cost and burden of supporting multiple social networks. As a Microsoft partner, Dell also helps organizations to maximize their investment in Office 365 and Yammer.
The company supports multiple disparate social networks with redundant functionality and content when individual departments within an organization deploy a social platform.
IT finds it difficult to govern and control silos of content and collaboration. Organizations also face a risky, complex and expensive project which might not migrated without system downtime and data loss.
A discovery dashboard helps the migration team to determine what should be moved and what can be eliminated by discovering the entire Jive environment, including places, discussions, documents, attachments and metadata such as author, size, creation date and modification date.
Discovery dashboard aims to reduce project risk, cost, time and complexity by planning migrating strategy.
Meanwhile, data fidelity is designed to smooth the transition by facilitating the migration of discussions and documents from Jive places to Yammer groups with high fidelity.
Security preserves user and document permissions by mapping Jive accounts to Yammer user accounts quickly and seamlessly.
Earlier, Dell has migrated more than 50 million mailboxes to Exchange and Exchange Online.
“Businesses now can easily migrate from standalone social solutions to Yammer and Office 365 and improve team collaboration without having to resort to a risky, expensive, labor-intensive manual consolidation process,” said Bryan Goode, senior director of Enterprise Social, Microsoft.
