UST Global to create 25,000 jobs in India

American IT services company UST Global has announced major investment and expansion plans in India with 25,000 new hires.

The company announced plans to invest $100 million in India.

Currently the company has 8,000 employees working at its global campus in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The campus has the capacity to accommodate 30,000 employees. As part of the new investments, the company plans to fill the 22,000 positions.

At UST’s Global Telecom Centre of Excellence in Gurgaon, set up in 2013, another 1,000 people will be hired to offer back-end support services to carriers.

Further, a centre in Bengaluru will hire about 1,000 people, and a product development centre in Pune will hire about that many more.

A major share of the new hiring will be focused on telecom, according to news reports. With this, UST Global is planning to explore further opportunities in the growing telecom sector.

According to USTGlobal CEO Sajan Pillai, the telecom sector in India promises great opportunities for over the next five years, mainly from the evolution of mobile network infrastructure to include innovative services like m-finance, m-agriculture, m-healthcare and m-education.

With the new human resource capacity addition, UST Global will be able to deliver the services and resources to help operators address the challenges arising out of data explosion from their mobile services. .
