The consumer PC market dipped 1.3 percent quarter on quarter to 1.15 million units.
The commercial PC segment in India rose 4.5 percent quarter on quarter to 1.04 million units in Q2 2015.
HP retained top spot with market share of 26.4 percent in the India PC market. HP grew 2.6 percent quarter on quarter. HP has recorded the highest growth rate of 17.7 percent quarter on quarter owing to strong enterprise engagements and spending from SMBs, which fuelled up their growth in Q2 2015.
Dell captured the second spot with a market share of 21.6 percent. Dell has now recorded an overall negative growth for two quarters in a row. Dell is expected to bounce back leveraging its channel presence and improved partner engagements in SMB and enterprise business.
Lenovo took the third spot with 18.1 percent market share in the quarter. Improved focus on mid-market accounts, maintaining a balanced inventory health and expanding coverage will help them boost their overall growth in the coming quarters.
IDC said festive buying is expected to drive a positive growth in consumer spending and last leg of ELCOT fulfilments are expected to lead to an overall growth in the PC market in the succeeding two quarters.
