CGI expands IT services business with Neste Oil and AT&T

Infotech Lead Europe: BPO services provider CGI Group has extended the IT services agreement with Neste Oil, a Finnish oil refining and marketing company, to manage Neste Oil’s IT infrastructure environment for two additional years.

CGI was selected Neste Oil’s IT infrastructure partner in 2009.

The renewed BPO  contract covers IT services for over 5000 employees across more than ten countries. CGI manages Neste Oil’s end user support; service desk, desktop, smartphone, e-mail and instant messaging services, data center and applications server capacity, as well as network and data security services.

“For Neste Oil, continuity of our IT services is important. Together, CGI and Neste Oil fine-tuned existing services to ensure focus on key business outcomes while streamlining administration and pricing,” commented Neste Oil’s chief information officer Kari Keskiivari. “New metrics for change management have also been developed to measure joint progress on the agreed-upon changes.”

CGI is ranked the fifth largest independent information technology and business process services firm in the world.

In another significant development CGI opened an onshore IT services deliver center in Belton, Texas, to support the delivery of AT&T’s Managed Network Services to corporate and government customers. The new center will give veterans an opportunity to apply the leadership, experience and dedication they developed during military service in a customer-facing environment.

The new 40,000-square-foot IT services center offers IT services for both commercial and public sector organizations. Since November 2011, CGI already has hired more than 130 employees, more than 50 percent of whom are veterans or military family members.  CGI has a target of hiring between 350 and 400 professionals at the center by 2016.

CGI portfolio includes high-end business and IT consulting, systems integration, application development and maintenance, infrastructure management as well as a wide range of proprietary solutions. Following the recent acquisition of Logica, CGI’s annualized revenue now exceeds C$10 billion.
