Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer in her blog post said she is pregnant with identical twin girls who are due in December.
The 40-year-old plans to take limited time away from her role and work throughout the pregnancy, as she did with the birth of her son. “There will be a lot to do for both my family and for Yahoo,” Mayer wrote. “Both will require hard work and thoughtful prioritization.”
The Sunnyvale, California-based company said recently that it expects to complete the spin off of e-commerce giant Alibaba in the fourth quarter.
A former Google executive, Mayer joined Yahoo in 2012 when she was more than six months pregnant with her first child. She worked from home for about two weeks following her son’s birth. Bloomberg today reported that Mayer stirred debate early the next year when an internal memo came to light that asked employees with work-from-home arrangements to make their way to company offices.
