Yahoo appoints Bob Lord as chief information security officer

Digital media company Yahoo has appointed Bob Lord as chief information security officer (CISO) to ensure better enterprise network security to its customers and employees.

Lord will lead Yahoo’s security team in offensive and defensive protection of the company’s more than one billion users around the world, and for Yahoo’s employees globally.

Most recently, he was the CISO-in-Residence at Rapid 7.

Prior to that, Lord led Twitter’s information security program and held positions in product and information security at companies like Red Hat, AOL, and Netscape.

Yahoo offers users encrypted products, provides an encryption plugin on GitHub for Yahoo Mail, offers two-factor authentication, and recently launched Yahoo Account Key, which allows users a fast and secure way to access their Yahoo accounts.
