IT service vendor Wipro today announced its first graduate hiring program in Australia for engineering and computer science graduates from universities across the country.
The company is hiring students from the 2014 batch.
At present Wipro, which services industry sectors such as banking, insurance, utilities, government, retail, consumer packaged goods, manufacturing, oil & gas, has over 1,500 employees in Australia.
The Bangalore-based company did not share the target number of students it will be hiring this year.
Graduates, shortlisted based on their interview performance, will be enrolled in a six month training program at Wipro’s headquarters in India. They will be given three months of training in programming and technical skills and three months of practical training on live customer projects. On completion, the graduates will work as full-time employees in one of Wipro’s Australian facilities.
