IBM has appointed Harriet Green, formerly CEO and executive director of the Thomas Cook Group, as vice president and general manager for the new units — responsible for developing these and other new growth businesses.
In March 2015, IBM announced that it will invest $3 billion over the next four years to deliver new cognitive computing technologies, cloud data services and developer tools to help clients and partners integrate data across the Internet of Things.
IoT team will have more than 2000 consultants, researchers and developers. IBM already helped thousands of organizations to deploy IOT solutions, working with partners such as The Weather Company, ARM, AT&T and others.
IBM will formally launch the new Education unit later this year.
