Blue Coat Systems has appointed McAfee veteran Michael Fey as president and chief operating officer.
Fey, who will report to Blue Coat CEO Greg Clark, will align the company’s web security, encryption management, cloud offerings and threat protection solutions with customer needs. This apart, he will be responsible for field and customer-facing business operations, and collaborating on strategy.
Prior to joining Blue Coat, Fey was executive vice president and general manager of corporate products at McAfee and chief technology officer of Intel Security. At Intel Security, he drove its strategies and innovation in the network, endpoint and analytics security segments by focusing on growth market opportunities and field execution.
Fey will replace David Murphy, who will be a a strategic advisor to Clark. Murphy joined Blue Coat following the privatization of the company and was instrumental in developing the company’s security and acquisition strategy.
