Autodesk to cut 925 employees to save more

TCS to hire 55,000 people in FY 2014 against earlier target of 50,000
Autodesk announced its plans to cut employees by approximately 10 percent, or approximately 925 positions — as part of a major restructuring.

The company will consolidate certain leased facilities. Autodesk said the job cut is not part of any week business condition.

The restructuring plan will accelerate the move to the cloud and its transition to a subscription-based business model, said Autodesk.

Autodesk aims to reduce expenses, streamline the organization, and reallocate resources.

“To realize value for both our customers and shareholders, we are restructuring so we can focus resources on areas that will accelerate the move to the cloud and transition to a subscription-based business,” said Carl Bass, Autodesk President and CEO.
