Motorola Solutions (MSI) announced Mobility Lifecycle Management (MLM), a new service aimed at enterprises that want to use mobile devices to transform their business operations.
Motorola says by leaving the complex task of lifecycle management to a trusted advisor who can deliver a predictable performance and cost, customers can focus their internal resources on core activities.

The MLM service ensures the introduction of mobile device technologies across an enterprise by speeding rollout and providing operational support for mobile device and application planning.
Bruce Brda, vice president of Global Solutions and Services, Motorola Solutions, said: “Motorola’s Mobility Lifecycle Management service becomes part of a customer’s extended enterprise ensuring its mobile device environment delivers the outcomes necessary to meet its targeted goals and drive business efficiencies.”
In addition, MLM also supports deployment, management, service desk, repairs and reporting and analysis. Performance is governed by customer-specific service-level agreements and clients will have visibility to all operations and performance measures through the Mobility Lifecycle Management Portal, a customizable browser-based reporting and analysis tool.

Motorola’s MLM service has allowed UK Mail, a parcels, mail and logistics services company, to lower costs by keeping mobile devices up to date and available to its workforce, allowing employees to concentrate on the needs of their customers.
With a national network of more than 52 sites and 2,500 vehicles, UK Mail, which offers delivery solutions both locally and worldwide, needed a mobile strategy to help monitor employees and their devices.

MLM Service will support entire Motorola Enterprise Mobile Computing Portfolio as well as third-party devices. The service is ready for immediate delivery in North America and Europe with rollout to Asia Pacific and Latin America later this year.
