Toshiba unveils Tecra W50 workstation for intensive visual and engineering tasks

Toshiba’s Digital Products Division (DPD) has unveiled its first mobile workstation, the Tecra W50 as part of its rollout of new business laptops.

Tecra W50 workstation will be available on October 18, 2013 for $1,999 MSRP.

Powered by 4th generation Intel Core i7 quad-core processor3 and NVIDIA Quadro graphics, the Tecra W50 mobile workstation features a 15.6-inch diagonal Full HD display and weighs less than six pounds.  It is one of the thinnest workstations available in the market, the company claims.

Tecra W50 mobile workstation is perfect for professionals who demand high-precision performance and high-end graphics for the most intensive visual and engineering tasks. The Tecra W50 includes additional benefits of enhanced security, enterprise-focused features, a built-in optical drive, along with the rock-solid durability Toshiba is renowned for.

The Tecra W50 boosts professional graphics capabilities and unprecedented performance with dedicated NVIDIA Quadro K2100M graphics and 2GB of GDDR5 memory to accelerate and mobilize any workflow.

The workstation features Toshiba’s innovative EasyGuard technology, plus Tecra durability and reliability with comprehensive spill, drop and Highly Accelerated Life (HALT) testing at Toshiba facilities in Japan to ensure the product is built to last.

Built-in Intel vPro technology provides the manageability today’s enterprises need. A Trusted Platform Module (TPM), a Fingerprint Reader and optional SmartCard technology provide the security IT departments require.
