eHDF selects Cisco ACI to enhance data center

eHosting DataFort CEO Yasser Zeineldin
eHosting DataFort (eHDF), a managed hosting and Cloud infrastructure services provider in the Gulf region, is making investment to enhance its Tier 3 data center.

As part of its decision to offer services on a shared platform to customers including managed hosting tenants as well as colocation customers, eHDF is deploying Cisco Application-Centric Infrastructure (ACI) in order to ensure visibility and integrated management of both physical and virtual networked IT resources built around application needs.

Cisco claims that its SDN (Software Defined Networks) solution’s application-based policy model offers speed through automation, reducing errors and accelerating application deployment and IT processes from weeks to minutes.

The IT solution from Cisco helps data centers to break down silos and unify component parts of IT infrastructure – networking, storage, compute, network services, applications, security.

“With the deployment of Cisco ACI, our customers can expect improved operational efficiency, greater productivity, increased scalability as well as improved security,” said Yasser Zeineldin, CEO of eHosting DataFort.

“Customers want a quick and seamless digital experience, and they want it now.  Cisco is committed to building the most capable, flexible and configurable networks that have the flexibility to support the needs of service providers – both today and in the future,” said Rabih Dabboussi, managing director of Cisco UAE.

With Cisco ACI, the company aims to deliver application-centric security automation to its data centre. The solution will provide automated and pre-defined policy-based security provisioning for next-generation firewall services.

The enterprise networking vendor says Cisco ACI will enable eHDF’s customers to subscribe to new services and a generation of distributed applications in a simplified way, with similar parity for both virtualized and non-virtualized environments.
