Dualtec Cloud Builders expanded its service offerings with a new Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) cloud based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform.

Dualtec’s, part of the UOLDiveo group, Dualtec’s deployment represents the first OpenStack-based public cloud in Brazil.

With Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform in place, Red Hat said, Dualtec can easily and cost-effectively scale its cloud computing environment as it continues to add new clients and projects.

Dualtec now offers cloud services such as e-commerce, social media, mobile, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and big data.

Dualtec originally launched as a telecommunication and Internet solutions provider for small and medium-sized businesses in Brazil. Now, it has more than 11,000 clients and is a cloud computing pioneer in Brazil.

Separately, Red Hat said FICO, the predictive analytics and decision management software company, has deployed Red Hat software.

The implementation includes Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform, Red Hat CloudForms, and Red Hat Ceph Storage, as the basis of its cloud infrastructure.

Red Hat said its offerings have helped FICO to cut marketing time by 50 percent and costs by 30 percent compared to the previous deployments.

Recently, Red Hat signed a definitive agreement to acquire Ansible, a provider of IT automation solutions.

The transaction is expected to close in October 2015, subject to customary closing conditions.

Few days ago, Red Hat announced that Verdipapirsentralen ASA  (VPS), Norway’s national Central Securities Depository, has deployed a private, on premise Platform-as-a-Service solution based on OpenShift Enterprise by Red Hat.
