IBM has opened Bluemix Garage in Toronto to enable enterprises to enhance cloud business using IBM Cloud technologies with design thinking methodology and development capabilities.
The Toronto Bluemix Garage experts will mentor developers and startups in the region to create cloud apps and services using IBM’s platform-as-a-service, Bluemix.
The company will combine its cloud ecosystem with DMZ’s network of international partners and in-house expertise.
Tangerine is a member of the Toronto Bluemix Garage which uses Bluemix to implement its mobile strategy.
Company officials said that Tangerine can gather customer feedback and insight on its mobile banking app by streamlining its implementation and development processes while using IBM Mobile Quality Assurance for Bluemix service.
“Bluemix Garages help enterprises harness the spirit and pace of startups while pouring back into the local community with mentorship and skills development on the latest cloud technologies,” said Steve Robinson, general manager, Cloud Platform Services at IBM.
Last year in August, CSC and IBM developed and offered a set of secure cloud solutions as-a-service in order to increase operational agility and cost-savings for enterprises.
In March, IBM said it would invest $3 billion over the next four years to set up a new Internet of Things (IoT) unit.
