CA Technologies builds dynamic storage with Microsoft Azure

CA Technologies has formed alliance with Microsoft to expand its enterprise cloud solution across a multi-platform IT environment to help customers increase business agility and manage costs.

The first solution from this partnership, CA Cloud Storage for System z, featuring Microsoft Azure, will be previewed at CA World ’14.

CA Cloud Storage for System z will help their mutual customers optimize their  IT environment and combine mainframe capabilities with Azure to provide the flexibility and agility required to respond to critical business needs, said Michael Madden, general manager, Mainframe, CA Technologies.

CA Cloud Storage for System zThe service, when used with Azure and a third party cloud storage appliance, enables enterprises access, store, retrieve and recover z/OS data more quickly and easily. This helps them save costs by eliminating the need to over-invest in storage capacity for future growth.

“Our alliance with CA Technologies is an important part of our cloud partner ecosystem and expands the capabilities of Azure for large organizations,” said Steve Guggenheimer, corporate vice president, Microsoft.

“By linking on-premises servers with the cloud, enterprises can respond more quickly to business demands, realizing the cost-saving benefits of the cloud,” Guggenheimer added.
