TCS assists RCPI to deploy iON Cloud solutions

IT services provider Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is assisting the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) to deploy iON Cloud solutions.

TCS said the cloud deployment will enable the postgraduate medical training college to create an online community to assist doctors to share expertise and access online courses throughout their careers.

The new tool called The Physician Network, a resource based on the TCS iON Digital Learning Platform, enables virtual communities and facilitates best practice knowledge-sharing. TCS said doctors can collaborate from any location around the world, using the mobile-optimized solution to share insights and learnings with other medical professionals.

RCPI has also digitised its assessment process, delivering significant cost and time efficiencies.

V Ramaswamy, global head at TCS iON, said: “The TCS iON cloud based solution enables institutions to enhance the experience of their stakeholders.”

The TCS iON Digital Assessment platform is also being used to allow doctors in Ireland, India, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Malaysia to take the internationally-benchmarked Membership Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCPI) examinations.

TCS said the efficiencies delivered as part of the RCPI solution have enabled greater capacity in digital assessment,  increasing the number of doctors who can sit RCPI examinations in international centres, and will  also reduce the waiting time for exam results from 30 days to seven days.
