Infotech Lead America: Global consulting and IT services firm Mahindra Satyam has launched HealthConnection, a health insurance exchange (HIX) solution that complies with U.S. Affordable Care Act requirements for establishing health insurance exchanges for businesses, employers and individuals by the January 1, 2014 deadline.
HealthConnection incorporates “solution accelerators,” a stet of automated tools to help plan and deploy rollouts, for key components including enrolment, plan comparison, and premium billing both for the individual market and Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) to ease implementation.
The HIX solution incorporates components from hCentive’s WebInsure state platform and CSC’s Premium Billing System 360°SM. It simplifies insurance purchasing process from both agency and consumer points of view.
“With the Supreme Court ruling in the summer, the race is on to build state-wide health insurance exchanges by the deadline. HealthConnection allows government agencies to rapidly and reliably meet ACA requirements with the flexibility to adjust to evolving federal requirements,” said Arvind Malhotra, senior vice president, Strategic Accounts, Mahindra Satyam. “By partnering with industry- leading software and solution vendors, we’ve developed a low-risk, robust approach to implement an exchange.”
With HealthConnection government agencies can provide an easy-to-use self-service portal and a multi-channel system that enable citizens to choose the right plan for individual situations. It also allows for rules-based eligibility determination and verification of data using interfaces to other state systems and federal data hub services.
The extensive reporting features are designed to meet evolving standards and ACA reporting requirements. The solution can build extensions to call center operations, document management and output management.
Further HealthConnection implents a virtual single point of access for users via a secure electronic interface that connects eligibility systems for disparate programs and directs individuals to the appropriate ‘‘door’’ based on income.
Recently Mahindra Satyam announced the launch of the Motor Vehicle Enterprise Solution (MOVES) for modernizing Department of Motor Vehicles’ business operations. MOVES is based on Microsoft’s Dynamics CRM.
