BMC Software hires Peter Leav from Polycom

BMC Software, a provider of IT solutions for the digital enterprise, announced the appointment of Polycom veteran Peter Leav as president and chief executive officer.

Peter Leav succeeds Bob Beauchamp, who continues to serve as chairman of the Board of Directors.

At Polycom, a $1.2 billion collaboration business serving the enterprise market, Peter Leav served as president and CEO for the last three years. In addition to Polycom, Peter Leav worked with NCR and Motorola.

At NCR Corporation, Peter Leav held executive leadership positions with increasing responsibilities, culminating in his role as president of industry and global field operations.

At Motorola, Peter Leav’s last position was corporate vice president and general manager for the company‘s enterprise business.

Leav’s prior experience includes executive sales leadership positions at Symbol Technologies, Cisco Systems and Tektronix, Leav, 46, is a graduate of Lehigh University and currently serves as a member of the board of directors of HD Supply.

In 2015, the privately-held BMC Software introduced its strategy around Digital Enterprise Management.
