IT services provider Accenture announced its deal to acquire a majority stake in IMJ Corporation (IMJ), a digital agency in Japan.
The acquisition will enhance the digital capabilities of Accenture Interactive in the Japanese market, bringing together leading edge creativity, knowledge in digital technology and consulting capabilities from Accenture and IMJ to provide end-to-end digital marketing services.
IMJ, founded in 1996, currently has approximately 600 employees and is one of Japan’s leading digital agencies.
Atsushi Egawa, country managing director at Accenture Japan, said: “What attracted us to IMJ is their know-how and deep insights into the evolving needs of Japanese consumers, and their ability to drive ROI in web and mobile integration for leading brands.”
Shinji Takeuchi is the president and chief executive officer of IMJ.
Accenture Interactive was named a Leader in The Forrester Wave: Digital Experience Service Providers (Q4 2015) and is one of the three largest worldwide digital agencies according to Ad Age.
