NetApp storage solution helps PI Industries to cut opex by 20%

NetApp today said Indian agrochemical manufacturer PI Industries has deployed NetApp’s storage solution to preserve its data.

PI Industries has cut operational costs by 20 percent by integrating with virtualized environments using NetApp’s storage efficiency capabilities.

By leveraging NetApp’s capabilities, PI Industrieshas achieved faster response time up to 20 percent.

NetApp has supported PI Industries to have a storage and data recovery solution to manage its disaster recovery solutions at PI’s remote site in Gujarat.

Vineet Kumar Chawla, head IT, at PI Industries, said: “We now have a storage and data management solution that delivers outstanding cost efficiency and extends value to our customers through high performance and lower response time.”

Utilizing NetApp’s unified technology, PI Industries consolidated its multiple applications such as SAP, Oracle, VDI and files on a single storage platform to reduce complexity and leverage storage efficiency capabilities such as deduplication, data compression, thin provisioning, snapshots and RAID-DP to save storage capacity.

This apart, NetApp’s FAS storage systems has supported PI Industries to consolidate a unify architecture to manage and control the company’s data through a single storage and data management platform.

PI Industries created a disaster recovery site keeping its business process solutions on SAP/Oracle for Manufacturing always-on by leveraging NetApp SnapMirror, SnapManager for SAP and Flexclone to create a disaster recovery architecture to ensure maximum availability for its applications.

Moreover, PI Industries has put its disaster recovery site to use by hosting test & development, and quality assurance from the site without impacting disaster recovery operations.
