Genpact, NASSCOM to launch vocational skill-building program

BPO firm Genpact in association with the Sector Skills Council and NASSCOM Foundation will launch a vocational skill-building program.

The Reach Higher vocational skill-building program is expected to support India Government’s aim to train 150 million people by 2022.

The program will be delivered through NIIT and Global Talent Track (GTT). The program will equip aspirants with skills in specialized areas such as finance and accounting across multiple industries and customer service for the high tech, banking, and insurance industries.

Amit Aggarwal, senior vice president at Genpact said: “This program will create a talent pipeline for many different companies to easily hire from and also allow the talent pool to find ready access to aspirational jobs.”

Ganesh Natarajan, chairman, NASSCOM Foundation, said: “This program is a huge leap forward from the general industry practice of providing skills training only to the hired individuals.”
