AT&T inks unified communications platform deal with Shell

AT&T announced its unified communications platform deal with Shell to migrate 150,000 employees and contractors in over 50 countries.

As per the five-year agreement, AT&T said, its unified communications platform will allow them to connect via instant messaging, voice, web and video conferencing, and application sharing using a single interface – on a range of connected devices such as PCs, tablets and smartphones.

AT&T did not share financial details of the deal. The American telecom operator said it is one of the largest deals for supplying unified communication platforms.

The solution enables voice, data files (such as slides, spreadsheets and other documents) and video sharing across all major mobile operating platforms including Windows, Windows Phone, iOS and Android in a fully managed environment.

Mark Shine, senior vice president at AT&T, said: “We’re helping them save money by providing the framework for a mobile environment. AT&T is delivering what it does best so Shell can focus on its core business — providing energy products and solutions for consumers and businesses around the world.”
